The ACT is a very predictable test. The key to improvement on the ACT is guided practice. You don't have to practice everything. You do have to practice the areas that are going to be on the test and that need the most improvement. Below is a general guideline for how this program will prepare you for a test:
You will take an ACT pre-test, unless you have previously taken an ACT test.
Based on results of your pre-test (or previous official test), I will create a plan that specifically addresses areas that need improvement.
I will send a lesson covering a topic that needs improvement and a quiz to go with it.
You will view the lesson on your own time and take the quiz.
If you show mastery of the topic (80% or higher on the quiz), I will send the next lesson.
If you do not show mastery, I will send suggestions on how to correct mistakes and send another quiz.
If you do not show mastery after three attempts on the quizzes, I will intervene with a 1 on 1 lesson through an online video platform.
The more concepts you practice, the more you master and the more you will be prepared for the test.
With this program, you are going to go at your own pace. For best results, I recommend 20-30 minutes of practice each day for 4-6 weeks.
This method does not emphasize taking practice test after practice test. I also do not recommend programs that automatically give you your next lesson. Those methods are too passive and do not lead to the best results. I will personally look at your pre-test results and help you set a challenging but achievable goal. I will also look at the results of each practice session and use that to determine what you should do next.
