My name is Doug Beaumont. I was raised and educated in Park Ridge, IL, a suburb of Chicago. I graduated from DePaul University in Chicago with a bachelor's degree in history in 1995. I continued to study at DePaul and received my Master's Degree in History in 2000. That same year I got married and moved to Phoenix.
I have been teaching and coaching at Peoria High School in Arizona for the past 20 years. After a few years of teaching seniors I noticed that our best students were not getting into the best colleges and universities. So I decided to do something about it. I created a class to teach students how to do well on the ACT. In that class, I teach my students some of the content they need to know, but, more importantly, the strategies they need to perform well on the test. I have helped hundreds of students in the classroom prepare for the ACT which has led to them earning thousands of extra dollars in scholarships. In addition, a higher ACT score can help you gain admittance to more selective colleges and universities. For example, I had a student who wanted to get into the Air Force Academy. He needed to score over 30 to meet their standards. He took the test five times and scored a 29 each time. He took my class, raised his score to 32 and was admitted into the Air Force Academy.
I have so many success stories like this and it motivates me to help more students. This past year, as distance learning became the norm, I noticed that the way I was teaching my students in class also worked well online. The first student I tutored raised her ACT score five points. That led to a savings of $3000/year off her tuition costs. Since then, I have tutored several students remotely and have seen their test scores improve. My goal is to help you become one of these success stories.
